Illamasqua Skin Base Review after 7 Months

Hey Beauties!

So.....This foundation is amazing it has to be the best i have ever used and i have used a lot of different foundations
-cut scene-  DadaDahhhhhhhhhhhh! "The Quest of a 1000 foundations has been completed"

I am doing this post again because after 7 months of using Skin Base almost everyday I have nearly ran out

Illamasqua Skin Base foundation has a Semi-Matte finish so it wont give you an overly shiny finish but will give a little "glow" to the skin.
The Idea for Skin Base comes from the Blemish Balms found in Asia. Illamasqua developed this product well before the hype of the BB Cream but the difference is that Illamasqua took out the whitening agent found in a lot of BB creams and also took out the High SPF as to make it HD which i think is amazing because you can add your own SPF but you cant take it away. If you are not sure on Beauty Balms they first came from Asia where they were used as a Balm to help burn victims as they were formulated with a HIGH! spf so that they wouldn't burn even more in the skin but they also offered somewhat of a coverage to take away the red this is where the whitening agent comes in. They were mainly used to help regenerate new skin cells in the Burn Victim

I have used a MAC 109, a Duo Fibre Brush (MAC 187) and a conventional Foundation Brush (MAC 190). I found that when trying all of these that the 190 did the best job as it got into the skin and spread out evenly without streaking as this foundation tends to dry quite quickly, so when using it dont place it all over and then go back, i  usually start on the right and work over to the left doing my forehead last

Illamasqua Skin Base is HD Ready and it is truely buildable, it starts maybe at a medium coverage and looks really natural and blends like a dream but you can build it up without it going cakey, it will just go to full coverage but i wouldnt use it like that because your using more and more product, so if you want full coverage then go with the Rich Liquid by Illamasqua. but you have to mix this with other products because it doesn't hold up very well.
The texture is so soft and creamy and a little goes a long way, as you dont get a big container for a reason as it goes along way i have had mine since June 2011. Skin Base has a massive 18!! different shades ranging from Pure White to Deep Dark ((Dark Chocolate Colour)) with a range of undertones:

              • Pink
              • Yellow
              • Neutral
              • Pink/Yellow
              • Olive
              • Red

SHADE 07 (Pink Undertone)

Blobbed? ...on my hand haha

Spread out
In terms of the foundation lasting, I found that if you push a powder into the skin it gives a gorgeous matte silky finish but you can also use a setting spray and it will help to keep it on.
