First Look: Crown Illuminating Liquid Foundation

Crown is known as a brand that produces great quality brushes for affordable prices. If you didn't know Crown are launching their Illuminating Foundation a first for the brand, Crown were nice enough to send me a sample to try out and see what my thoughts are.

Colour and Pigmentation

Crown Illuminating Foundation* is a satin finish light to medium foundation with a pink undertone which is very noticeable if you don't blend it in well. I would say this is more of a mixer than anything something you add into your foundation to give it a dewy look or something you use after foundation for highlighting. It reminds me a lot of the Armani Fluid Sheer and a cross between the MAC Strobe Cream and Liquid as its not as thick as the cream. The dewy sheen this product gives is really natural so long as you dont use too much of it.
A little goes a long way with this product especially if you are highlighting.

Wear Time

I got good wear time out of this as it sets down and leave a really opalescent sheen to the skin. You will find you will get around 5 hours wear out of this product not the longest but its good enough to get you through the day and if you mix it into your foundation it won't fade as it will be mixed into the foundation.

Packaging

To cut to the point i dont like the packaging, i think it could look much better given the look of some of the other foundation out there at the same price point it could look much better. I dont like the pump of the bottle it pumps out too much product leaving you with some left over you have to wipe away and the feel of the pump isnt that amazing either it just feels very cheap. Not to mention the text "For Professional Makeup Artist" i think there is spelling mistake but im not sure and also they are cutting away a large part of their customers by saying Makeup Artists only
Overall i absolutely love the product im just not to keen on the packaging/container

Price and Where to Buy

You will be able to purchase this product soon from from CrownBrush.co.uk the product page is up but it says "Coming Soon" The price of this foundation is what really got me, at £17 its verging on high end a few pounds shy of some higher end foundations from MAC, Clinque and Clarins instead of the affordable prices we know from Crown Brush. I dont know how you would feel about paying that but rest assured it is a great product

Yeah, it should really be 'for professional make-up/makeup/make up artistS'. Plural. I agree with you on the packaging, it looks cheap - especially the outer box. It also looks more like a highlighter than a foundation, and the pink undertone is really obvious when you blended it out above! I won't be trying this.

  6. I really like the look of this as I love my current foundation shades but they aren't quite dewy so think if I add this it would give the right look do you know when it's launching lovelie? Xx

It looks like it leaves a gorgeous glow, my current foundations do not give such a dewy finish, which I would actually love to have. The packaging does look a bit cheap, and to be honest before reading your review I may not of gone for it. I still haven't tried any of their brushes, it is on my never ending wish lists. KBxx
