First Impressions: Urban Decay Alice Through The Looking Glass Collection

Hey Beauties!

Who else was really excited for the launch of this collection? hands up! haha. Since the last Alice in Wonderland Collection i have been wondering what they were going to bring out for Through the Looking Glass. Lets just say im not disapointed.

This collection contains 5 new lipsticks in different formulas from matte to metallics and a gorgeous palette! I always think that these kinds of collections are thought out so well that you're almost buying for the packaging as well as the makeup itself.

Starting with the lipsticks, they come in 5 different shades and 3 different formulas. Iracebeth (Comfort Matte) is a bright red matte, Time (Metallized) is a gunmetal navy with a silver shimmer,  Mad Hatter (Metallized) is a bright purple shimmer, Alice (Sheer Shimmer) is a sheer nude with a pink shift, Mirana (Metallized) is a matte berry with a tonal shimmer.

My favourite had to be either Mad Hatter or Mirana because i really love purple colours and these purples arnt too in your face crazy so they would be good for everyday although you would have to be pretty brave to carry off Time as thats a blue colour.

The palette has to be the main piece for this collection as the work and thought that must have gone into this is just insane. You pull the lid open to this palette to see a quote inside "i'm not strange weird off nor crazy my reality is just different from yours" I love this quote as strange as it is i can kind of relate to it. You then pull open the 2 doors to find this gorgeous moving butterfly underneath.

The shadows are housed in a draw in the bottom of this palette. It comes with 20 brand new eyeshadows that have all been arranged in columns by character so you can match up the columns to steal their looks or mix up these shades to create your own looks.

From softer shades inspired by Alice’s look in the film to bold, bright shades like those seen on the Mad Hatter, it’s all in this palette. I have a few favourites in this palette such as Salazen Grum, Hatter, Cake and Gone Mad. The pigmentation of this palette is what you would expect of Urban Decay. All the colours are smooth and easy to blend so you always get the best eye look that you would want. This palette also comes with a double ended brush one side is a pencil type brush and the other is a blending brush which you can honestly never have too many of.

  4. I'm a little too scared to try the lipsticks, as beautiful as they look. The palette however looks dreamy. £45 does seem a little steep though, aw well a girl can dream!

Awesome review. I saw this palette today and I was thinking about it but ended up walking away. Some of the colors are a bit much for me and I don't think I'll end up using half of them. Plus for the price, I want it to be longer lasting!

  8. This is *that* palette that I keep seeing everywhere @ the moment - but I'm not sure I am a fan of the collection. I went to have a look on counter and I didn't like any shade of the lipsticks (I really thought I would!) & the palette just doesn't make colour-sense to me....as in it just looks a bit....messy....if you get me! Although I do like the Butterfly thing x

I have to admit, I am a HUGE Urban Decay Cosmetics fan! I didn't try this one, but I wasn't 100% interested in it to be quite honest because I have so many of their other palettes! xx adaatude.com
