Hey Beauties!
Todays post is going to be a bit of a geeky one because im simply obsessed with everything to do with Olaplex. If you haven't heard of Olaplex, where have you been?! First of all this a Salon Only product so you can't buy it in store or online.
What Olaplex does is rather remarkable in my opinion, it goes into the hair and reforms all of the broken disulphide bonds that are broken during the colouring and lightening process. If too many disulphide bonds are broken then your hair becomes really damaged that's when you start to see dull, lank frizzy hair that just doesn't look right.
I've been using Olaplex No.3* for a while now and I can definitely see a change in my hair it feels and looks much better than it did before which is pretty amazing because my hair is pretty damaged.
Just to state this not a conditioning treatment its more of a reparative treatment, it won't do things your normal treatments do, it won't moisturise or add keratin to the hair, it actually goes into the hair and repairs it from the inside out
What I like to do with the No 3 is to use it before i get my hair done almost like a booster shot. If you can make your hair as healthy as possible before getting it done in essence the more disulfide bonds that are fixed before your colour appointment the less damaged your hair is going to look afterward.
No 3 is applied to wet hair that has been towel dried before shampooing and conditioning, apply it generously to your hair, then comb through and leave it for a minimum of 10 minutes, I usually find the longer you leave it on your hair the better the results will be.
The best thing about Olaplex is you could just do 1 treatment and never do one again so long as you take care of your hair and don't bleach or colour your hair the effects are permanent but obviously the more treatments you do the better your hair will become.
Prices are based on the salon you buy the Olaplex No 3 from so there isn't really a price i can give you but i can tell you that it is an expensive luxury treatment to have.

I NEED to try Olaplex - my coloured hair is in bits and people keep recommending it x
ReplyDeleteI haven't gone for the in-salon treatment (where they do No. 1 and No. 2) but I've been using No. 3 for a few weeks now and I've definitely noticed a difference in the health of my hair! Love this stuff. Really expensive (for me at least - and I was SO shocked by the size of the bottle when it arrived) but I feel like it's worth it.
ReplyDeleteI seriously need to try this .This product sounds amazing.I will give it a try.
