Holy Grail Concealer! - Mary Kay Review

Mary Kay Concealer

Hey Beauties!

Mary Kay was something i had never considered even slightly that the brand might have been good it was one of those thoughts of "another brand that i dont really know providing makeup i know nothing about" but i have to say i was completely wrong i was actually really surprised at the quality of a lot of the products from Mary Kay especially their concealer which has become my new holy grail product for covering up blemishes to brightening under eyes and even using Ivory 2 as a Kim Kardashian-esque highlight.

Colour and Pigmentation

Something i didnt expect from this range was the amount of colours each colour as a 3 different shades in its colour so there is Ivory 1,2 and 3 then Biege 1,2 and 3 etc and there is a selection of warm and cool tons something you dont usually see in more affordable makeup. Pigmentation wise these blew me away, they are really pigmented but in a really natural way they dont look cakey and they dont look like a traditional concealer. Everyone i know who has used these concealers have all commented on how soft and smooth they apply given that they are that soft and blend like a dream you can apply under your eyes without fear of it creasing.

Wear Time

After all the amazing things i had found this concealer did i was wondering how well it would hold up doing the day and it didn't disappoint you will find this is quite a long wearing concealer, i found it last for around 6-7 hours depending as its said that this concealer is waterproof which is amazing but to help it even more it helps what you use underneath primer wise and over it powder wise. I used the Photo Finish Pore Minimizing Foundation Primer from Smashbox and on top i used the Laura Mercier Secret Brightening Powder under my eyes and the Daniel Sandler Invisible Veil Powder as a general setting powder.

Packaging

Packaging wise its nothing that crazy or different its really simple really chic it doesn't look "cheap" it actually looks like something i saw from either Dior or YSL im sure. In terms of containing the products its great the lid screws on well so you wont find this going everywhere in your bag which is always a plus haha.

  2. I've always thought of Mary Kay as an "older lady" brand but I've seen so many reviews lately that make me question that! They seem to have a great range of products and some really innovative ones too. Might have to check them out!

I have a 'friend' who sells Mary Kay and she absolutely hounds people so it has put me off the brand. It does sound good and really cheap too!
