I wanted to welcome everyone to the first post of my new rebranded blog! I really love doing these top 5 posts simply because they seem to help a lot of people. If you are on a budget or if you just like these brands you will love this post!
First we have the Sleek Makeup Face Contour Kit (£6.49)*. I love this palette because if you're a beauty lover you will know how hard it is to find a good contour in a drug store often they are either shimmery or too orange but with this palette you have a great block brown colour which chisels out the cheeks, nose, chin perfectly and to top it all off it contains the matching highlighter which is one of my favourite highlighters. Coming in 3 different shades there really is a shade for everyone.
Next we have the Maybelline EyeStudio Color Tattoo in Timeless Black (£4.99) which is a matte black base which i often use when doing a smokey eye, its has to be one of my favourite bases simply because its matte and its pigmented and it works really well and i think it outperforms some higher end products because it sets down and its hard to get off so its perfect for those of you with oily lids! you can apply this to the lid then blend it out and let it set then apply a colour over the top such as a lighter colour to make it brighter and more intense.
I love Scandaleyes Waterproof Eyeliner in Black (£3.99) from Maybelline as if you dont want to shell out for the Urban Decay 24-7 liners then this is a great dupe in the drugstore i find these are a little bit harder than the Urban Decay but there is similarities as they are both quite creamy. This black is a very black colour as i know quite a few liners i have tried from the drugstore haven't been true black but for £3.99 this is great eyeliner and to mention its waterproof so its perfect for those oily lidded people or those who find eyeliner doesn't last on the waterline.
This mascara, Does It All from Collection Cosmetics (£4.99) is such a great dupe for the Benefit They're Real as they both have the plastic head. I find this mascara is really a deep black so its great if you want your mascara to last I find that it gets to the stage of being hard to get off but it thats what you want then this is the mascara for you. Does it all is great at giving you lenght and a bit of thickening of the lashes it basically does the same as They're Real but i find it dries out quite quickly but at £4.99 that isnt much of a loss as you are supposed to throw out your mascaras regularly
What are your favourite drugstore products?

I gave one of these away at my meet - it looked so good! But I have far too many brush holders already!
ReplyDeleteCollection really have some gems! I may have to give this mascara a go, is it waterproof? I'm in need of something that wont smudge all over the place with the heat/humidity when I head off to work on a cruise ship this summer!

I'm a sucker for cool names or collection themes. Maleficent is just such an amazing character, I'd absolutely love to get in on that. The lipstick in particular looks great.
ReplyDeleteOh, dear, it is hard to talk about weight in a constructive way, isn't it?
ReplyDeleteIn theory, it sounds like a good idea to take away the thing that offends us, but the scales aren't really the problem, just the instrument. The real problem is a society full of body shaming (not just fat shaming, although it's by far the most ubiquitous one. People, guys and girls alike, are shamed for being too thin, too fat, girls for having large or small breasts, etc.) and the fact that we are daily bombarded with the message that our bodies MUST respond to a certain standard... or else.
I'm sure Superdrug meant well, but their attempt demonstrates a clear lack of understanding of the issues involved. They would have fared much better if they researched the reasons behind body insecurities and done something to address that. (Then again, Superdrug as a chain have been nothing but disappointing in my experience, so why am I surprised?)
Great post, though. I'm happy to see this spoken of.
I'll be hunting down that mascara, that is twice today I have seen it mentioned! :)

I absolutely cannot wait for this film to come out. Disney fanatic over here. The Lipglass looks inviting! And the eyelashes, not seen a lot on blogs about Mac eyelashes! Those look like they'd be dramatic. Angelina Jolie's makeup is actually fabulous too. I can't stop watching the trailer now god dammit!

I bought that mascara after seeing your tweet about it :)
ReplyDeleteI would love to try the Sleek Contour kit but I can never find it in any of my local Superdrug stores, I have heard that it is good for even us with very fair skin.

I have the MUFE Dany's pouch and love it. If I hadn't bought with pro discount I would definitely have gone for the Nanshy
ReplyDeleteThat Sleek Contour looks great! I hated the Scandaleyes pencils, no way are they a dupe for the UD pencils - so smudgy, panda eyes within minutes!!
