We all know, or should know, how important SPF is. We should be using it every day all, year round - even in the winter because, of course, the sun reaches us everywhere we go.
SPF is important because it protects us from the harmful rays of the sun known as Ultraviolet Rays. When trying to understand SPF it’s broken down into UVA and UVB. UVA is known as the ‘aging' ray as it can cause premature aging of the skin over time. UVA rays can pass through glass so even if you are inside you’re still at risk from UVA rays. UVB rays are known as the "burning" rays - these are the ones that will give you a sunburn if you are outside, these rays can’t penetrate glass so that’s why you can’t get a sunburn when inside.
I really like the Benefit Dream Screen because to me it’s one of a kind! You’ll find out when you apply it that it is completely matte I’ve never known a sunscreen to be like that but it works.
The one thing I hate with sunscreen is when it goes all tacky, sticky and hard to rub in - there’s nothing worse than feeling like you’ve got a layer of something sitting on your skin.
I have been using this for a few weeks now and I’m seriously impressed at the wear of this product as well as the amount of protection it offers. Dream Screen is Broad Spectrum SPF 45 PA+++ which means it protects you from both UVA and UVB radiation. The PA+++ basically means the amount of protection from UVA rays that the sunscreen gives so the more plusses the more protection.
A testament to show how good this product is my mum had a kidney transplant back in April and has been looking for a good sunscreen ever since. When you have a transplant, the drugs you are taking post-op make your skin become very sensitive to the sunlight so you have to make sure you are protected well. Like me she doesn’t like heavy tacky sunscreens so when she found this she fell in love as well!

Hi Andy, what moisturiser do you apply beforehand? I tried this out last summer in France and hated it. I used a light moisturiser underneath and this on top. It left a really greasy residue all over and I never really got on with it.

Oh thats a shame youve been having problems with it its strange because this SPF is oil free and has a matte finish

I've only ever heard good things about this. As a super paley with freckles I do need a high SPF most days, it's just the price of this that puts me off!
ReplyDeleteLove the fact it doesn`t stay tacky on your skin, a little bit about a 5p piece size covers your whole face and neck.
ReplyDeleteThe price is high, but for what you would pay for a generic sized bottle, this is more economical.
I had my Transplant 5 months ago and the wee bottle is still going strong. The usual price for a big bottle of generic sunscreen is approx £12 for 200ml The Benefit one is £25 for 450ml. So basically you are paying around the same price for both.
I used this last year on holiday to Florida and it's amazing. It's so lightweight and hydrating. It just feel like a really good moisturiser with hidden benefits.
