Makeup Forever Water Blend Foundation Review

Makeup Forever Water Blend Foundation Review

Hey Beauties!

How is everyone today? im having such a lazy day i have literally done nothing apart from write this blog post. Its a wonderful life haha! Today i wanted to talk about a new product from Makeup Forever, the Water Blend foundation which launched in July.
Water Blend is a reformulated version of the classic Face and Body foundation. I know a lot of people went crazy when Makeup Forever said they were going to reformulate another of their foundations but seeing as i haven't tried the original i have nothing to compare it too.

Water Blend foundation is a lightweight foundation that can be either used on the face or body and best of all its completely transfer proof so this would be perfect for Makeup Artists out there who want a foundation for the body that they can use without worrying it will get on clothes. Water Blend is made up of 80% mineral infused water, this unique water-gel texture naturally hydrates and blends in evenly for a smooth, flawless look.

There are a few ways you can apply this, ive found that the easiest way is with your fingers i know a lot of people will say you shouldn't use your hand when doing makeup but honestly so long as they are clean and you know what you're doing i say go for it! If you want a higher level of coverage i would suggest using something like the MAC 187 Duo Fibre brush as this will help to buff the foundation into your skin. On this one occasion i would suggest not using a sponge to apply simply because this foundation is mainly water so the sponge is going to eat up your foundation which is never good. You can use your sponge to blend just dont apply with it.

I have the shade Y215 which is a bit to light for me and i tend to like a pink or neutral tone more but besides that im on the fence with this foundation because yes you do get a bit of coverage it evens out the skin tone but i feel like there really isnt much coverage there its very light. I would probably suggest using this on days you dont want to wear makeup but want a little coverage (It's bascially got the coverage of a light tinted moisturiser) Where i think this really stands out is when you apply it to the body because it is transfer proof you can use it on your arms or your legs to give yourself that gorgeous sheeny glow which we all love and you wont have to worry about it transferring which is amazing!

I think overall its a good foundation but i think you need to be aware that this is a very light foundation, yes you can build up the coverage in layers but you could easily just buy the Makeup Forever HD foundation for that.
You can find the Makeup Forever Water Blend Foundation (£27*) in Debenhams online and instore

I enjoy light coverage foundations so this might be something I could get on well with. Like all foundations though I definitely need to pick up a sample first and test it out before buying x

  3. I love the fact that it is transfer proof but I need a full coverage foundation in my life.... Maybe if one day my skin gets better I'll try it.

  6. I feel like this would be a great summer foundation if you're a tinted moisturizer kind of person. I'm undecided if I'm going to try this or not! Great review :-)

  8. I was thinking of buying the HD foundation but I think I'll try this instead, I love anything that is sheer and light coverage so this sounds right up my alley. I have no idea why some are so anal about applying foundation with fingers. I don't think it's hygienic if applied on others but on ourself it's more than fine as long as out fingers are clean.

  9. I'm a real fan of a light pigmented foundation as I don't like a really heavy coverage, so this could be great for me - especially as its so affordable! Thanks for the post xx
